Update on Daysie- Jan. 31, 2011

Daysie was suppost to have a follow up visit with the vet today, but the vet had a family emergency and will not be in again until next Monday. So I will not have a Dr. update until then. But she is still struggling with the pocket of infection on her back. It is not healing and the Dr. said if we can't get it to heal soon she will need surgery to remove it. She is also still itching alot even with the medication to help with the itching. But her skin does look a little better, and alot of the open sore's are healing up with the antibiotic's that she is on. Thanks again to everyone who has donated. We really appreciate it! We are getting close to the raffle. We have 83 LIKES on our facebook page. As soon as we get 100 LIKES, we will do the raffle.

I would be happy to provide proof of Daysie's medical bills, or give reference's of people who have adopted dog's from us in the past to insure you that we are honest people and all donations are going toward Daysie's care. Or if you would feel more comfortable donating directly to our vet. I would be happy to provide you with that information.

Also, if you are interested in adopting Daysie when she is fully recovered, or if you would like more information about her, please let us know.

ABOUT DAYSIE

Daysie is a 10 year old blue heeler mix. She is a wonderful dog that is suffering from many medical issues. She has a severe skin allergie that was left untreated for over a year. So now she has many infections, hair loss, open sores, and her skin is covered in yeast and bacteria. We have been fostering Daysie for a few weeks and I have taken her in to see the vet. She had skin scrapings, and they drained the big pocket of infection and she is now on 3 medications and has a medicated bath once a week. She is also on a very expensive specific diet to help control her allergie's. Daysie also has other medical issue's that we have not even begun to treat yet. She has a few broken teeth that the vet said must be quite painful to her, so she will need a dental, and she also has a tumor that will need to be aspirated and diagnosed. This wonderful girl is full of life, and she deserves to live her senior years happy and comfortable!
Daysie's road to recovery will probably be a long one. She will need many vet visit's, and her medications and special diet are very expensive. We are not a licensed rescue, but we are very honest people that are trying to make a difference one dog at a time.
